Because the harvest season for California asparagus has closed, growing areas have shifted to Mexico. However, there is a limited supply currently coming out of Mexico, and farmers are having a hard time keeping up with the demand. Short supply and high demand always equals a higher price. In addition to asparagus, avocados are unfortunately still holding a higher than normal price for this time of year. Pricing has seen some relief in recent days, and we can only hope it continues on this downward trend.
