No more rain on the horizon, only sunshine moving forward! Feels like is was such a long Winter. Happy spring is finally here.
Local Asparagus is now in full swing! Coming in hot from Durst Farms in Esparto, CA. 11# cases of large size is looking absolutely beautiful and ready to hit all your spring menus.
We are in the middle of a transition from Arizona back to Salinas, so expect a rocky few weeks for leaf lettuces, broccoli, cauliflower and green onions.
Market & Pricing News:
Limes – High in price; limited supply due to rains in growing regions have driven up price in past weeks, expect pattern to continue through next week
Local Artichokes – are here in Small, Medium & Large – looking great.
Spring Onions & Green Garlic – in full swing from Coke & Knoll Farms.
Cauliflower – price shot through the roof, low availability and high demand.
Rhubarb – not available until mid April – imported $15 per # quality is poor.
