About Us
For over three generations, C & L Produce has been delivering to restaurants across the Bay Area with farm fresh produce year round. We have been in operation out of the same warehouse in the Jack London Square Oakland produce market since 1949. Uniquely, C & L Produce is a local family owned and operated wholesale produce company. Above all, what sets us apart from our produce competitors is our emphasis on service. Quality service is paramount in developing longstanding relationships with our customers. We believe this mindset of superior service and building relationships with our customers is what has kept us around for sixty-nine years. For this reason, we make it our mission to find the best quality produce products at a great price point. We consistently hold ourselves to our motto, “Quality, Service, Value”.
Who We Are
C & L Produce was founded in 1949 by Chester Lievre I, and is currently operated by his son Chet II, and his grandson Chet III. Chet II’s wife Denise, daughter Alyssa, and son Nick are also a part of daily operations.
Many of our employees have been with us for over ten years, some more than fifteen, which proves we work hard to provide a positive, friendly atmosphere for our employees as well. As a result, we have all grown together learning all we can about the produce delivery business and how to best service our customers. Check out some snapshots below of everyday life here at C & L!
