Local spring product is really starting to shine this week, with some exciting items now available and strong quality across the board.

Now Available & Tasting Great
Local fava beans are here and eating beautifully. Both Coke Farms and Iacoppi Farms are supplying excellent quality this week.
English peas are currently in a short gap with Iacoppi, but we do have coverage from other growers over the next couple of weeks.
Sugar snap peas are coming out of the coastal regions with great flavor and crisp texture.

Spring onions continue to be a highlight. Local red and white are strong and versatile. Green garlic remains abundant with great product from Riverdog, Knoll, and Coke Farms.

On the vegetable side, broccolini and broccoli rabe are in full swing with the California season underway—quality and supply are both strong.
Local anise from Coke Farms is especially sweet and aromatic right now.
Romanesco is a standout item, benefiting from the cool nights and sunny days—excellent flavor and eye-catching presentation.

Be sure to check out coastal-grown artichokes. These tight, heirloom varieties are becoming more limited as fewer farms continue to grow them. We currently have good availability in all sizes.

Fruit Highlights
Cara Cara oranges are cutting beautifully with sweet, smooth, and a perfect bridge into stone fruit season.
Watsonville strawberries are coming on strong with great flavor and solid pricing in both organic and conventional options.
Haden mangos are also arriving and eating exceptionally well—top-tier flavor.

We’ve also recently revamped our spice program, offering both everyday kitchen staples and more unique specialty options.

Market Watch / Shortages
The lime market has been extremely high, but we’re finally starting to see some relief.
Watermelon supply is building, and we’re seeing better quality fruit coming in.
The tomato market is beginning to ease slightly as Baja and San Diego regions ramp up, this trend should also help bell peppers and chilis in the coming weeks.
