Weekly Produce Market Update

Local tomato season is ramping up quickly, and the quality has been outstanding. We’re seeing beautiful product from Terra Firma and Coke Farms. Both are producing a great mix of colors, sizes, and plentiful volume. Terra Firma’s Early Girl tomatoes are also arriving with excellent flavor, an absolute must use item this time of year. Baby mixed cherry tomatoes and other single pack varieties are available now as well. Durst Farms has begun harvesting the baby tomatoes and several more of our favorite local growers are expected to start picking this weekend. Safe to say local tomato season has officially arrived!
Local squash continues to be very strong with both organic and conventional options available. Zucchini and yellow crookneck squash are showing excellent quality, and we also have a beautiful mixed squash box in stock featuring unique shapes and colors for seasonal menu inspiration.
Brentwood grown corn remains one of the highlights of the market. We’re welcoming organic bi-color corn this week as a substitute for yellow corn. Yellow corn supplies have been a little short recently but inventories are expected to rebound after the weekend harvests.
Blue Lake beans continue to impress with great tenderness, color, and flavor. Painted Serpent cucumbers and Lemon cucumbers are also in strong supply and are perfect additions to summer menus.
Last but not least, we’d like to reintroduce Baby Cauliflowerlini. Similar to broccolini in appearance and versatility, it offers the mild, sweet flavor and attractive look of cauliflower in a unique baby format.
Looking ahead, keep an eye out for more local melons and peppers arriving soon as summer production continues to build throughout Northern California.
